Instructions for Submission to TarBase : Plants

(1) Users can submit author and manuscript information through the submission form and submit targets one at a time through the same submission form . Please note that the user may provide either or both of the indirect experimental support and direct experimental support. All other fields are required.

(2) Users can submit author and manuscript information through the submission form and submit many targets in bulk by uploading an excel file . The format of the excel file should adhere to the instructions provided below. An example excel file is provided below the instructions.

Excel File Format

Thirteen data columns, in the order indicated below:

• Column 1 (data type)
  • Indicate whether the target is "translationally repressed" or "downregulated/cleaved".
  
  
• Column 2 (support type)
  • Indicate whether the target tested positive, "true", or negative, "false".
  
  
• Column 3 (miRNA)
  • Supply the name of the miRNA, with a capital R, and without the organism prefix (i.e. hsa). For example: "miR-34a".
  
  
• Column 4 (gene)
  • Supply the gene family. For example: "ARF".
  
  
• Column 5 (MRE)
  • Indicate the number of validated binding sites that you are reporting for your gene.
  
  
• Column 6 (single site sufficiency)
  • Supply the single site sufficiency status as either "yes", "no", or "unknown". Single site sufficiency refers to whether the target sequence being reported is independently sufficient for translational repression and/or cleavage.
  
  
• Column 7 (indirect support)
  • Supply the experimental technique used to provide the indirect support for the target site. A description of what constitutes indirect support can be found here . If the technique used for indirect support is the same as a technique already recorded in TarBase, please use the same syntax.
  
  
• Column 8 (direct support)
  • Supply the experimental technique used to provide the direct support for the target site. A description of what constitutes direct support can be found here . If the technique used for direct support is the same as a technique already recorded in TarBase, please use the same syntax.
  
  
• Column 9 (Paper)
  • Supply the name of the first author and year for the paper that should be referenced for this target.
